Springvale Crossing Removal

Client: McConnell Dowell Balfour Beattie Joint Venture
Location: Springvale Railway Station Springvale

Project: Sewer Main Relocation

Delcon Civil relocated the sewer assets resulting from the change to the railway crossing alignment. Works included:

  • Open trenching and laser boring
  • Live sewer work
  • Manhole construction and vacuum testing

Delcon delivered the works on time and budget and safely managed the hazards associated with live sewer and deep excavation.

Project: Water Main Relocation

The 400mm MSCL water main infrastructure required relocation due to the change in the railway crossing alignment and location. These works included:

  • Open trenching and directional drilling inclusive of hot tapings
  • Swabbing, chlorination and hydrostatic testing
  • Abandonment of existing SEW Assets

Delcon delivered the works to the required quality and worked with the water authority guidelines and tight project timeframes to ensure a successful project outcome.

Project: Major Drainage Diversion

Delcon Civil installed 1350mm drainage pipeline up to 6m deep in the middle of busy roads and in a rail environment.

Delcon safely delivered the project with minimal disruption to the community despite the high volumes of pedestrian traffic, road closures and works within the vicinity of local business. Despite the large number of services in this brownfields installation, Delcon completed the works without damage to any service. Delcon’s NDD truck was pivotal in the protection of these services.

Project: Springvale Crossing Removal – Civil works and bulk excavation

Delcon Civil completed civil works to allow for the cross over from the existing to the new rail system.

Delcon delivered the works on time and safely during a rail shut down and occupation over the Easter weekend. The works included excavating 18,000m3 and bottom ballast work within a 36 hour shut down period.
